Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Bondshake (“Bondshake”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of the Bondshake platform at bondshake.com (“the Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity and “you” includes that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
The service
Bondshake is a client portal platform that lets service providers — freelancers, agencies, consultants, and teams — create a shared workspace per project and share it with clients via a single link. The Service includes portal creation, file uploads, link sharing, task checklists, image commenting, view analytics, and related features.
We reserve the right to add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where possible we will give reasonable notice of significant changes.
Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not share your account or allow others to access the Service using your credentials. If you suspect your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at contact@bondshake.com.
One person or entity may not maintain multiple duplicate trial accounts to avoid payment. Duplicate trial accounts may be merged or closed.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Distribute malware, phishing material, or any content designed to deceive or harm
- Scrape, crawl, or programmatically harvest data from the Service without our written consent
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial communications to clients or other parties
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure
- Circumvent any access controls, usage limits, or security measures
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice, at our sole discretion.
Subscriptions & billing
Plans
Bondshake offers two paid plans — Solo and Team — billed monthly or annually. Each plan begins with a 14-day trial. Current pricing is displayed on the Pricing page. Prices are in USD and exclusive of applicable taxes.
Payment
Paid plans are billed in advance at the start of each billing period. Payment is processed by Stripe. By providing a payment method you authorise us to charge it for all fees due. If a payment fails we will attempt to retry and notify you by email. Failure to pay may result in suspension of your account.
Refunds
Monthly subscribers may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then, and no further charges are made.
Refund eligibility: You are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase, provided you have not created a portal and shared it with a client during that period. Once you have created a portal and sent the link to a client, the service has been used and no refund will be issued — regardless of how much time has passed since purchase.
To request a refund, email contact@bondshake.com within the 7-day window. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Annual plans follow the same rule: a full refund is available within 7 days of purchase if you have not shared a portal with a client. After 7 days, or after client use, annual fees are not refundable.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice to your registered email address. Price changes take effect at your next renewal. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the renewal date.
Taxes
You are responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar tax on your subscription. Where required by law, Bondshake will collect and remit such taxes.
Trial access
Solo and Team each include a 14-day trial. If you do not upgrade at the end of the trial, you can still view and share existing portals, but creating new portals and editing or commenting on existing portals will be paused. See the full feature comparison on the Pricing page.
We reserve the right to impose reasonable rate limits and usage restrictions on trial accounts to protect the quality of service for all users.
Your content
You retain full ownership of all content you upload or create using the Service — files, links, checklists, text, and images (“Your Content”). By uploading content you grant Bondshake a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, serve, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and to those you share a portal with.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (e.g. storing files on Cloudflare R2).
You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to upload it and grant us the licence above. You must not upload content that infringes a third party's intellectual property, violates applicable law, or breaches these Terms.
Client & viewer access
When you share a portal link, anyone with that link can view the portal's public content without creating an account. You are responsible for managing who receives your portal links.
Password-protected portals (available on Solo and Team plans) require viewers to enter a password you set. Password protection is a convenience feature and not a guarantee of absolute security.
Clients who create a free Bondshake account to interact with a portal (comment, upload, check off tasks) are subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that clients whose data appears in portals have consented appropriately under applicable privacy laws.
Storage limits
Storage limits apply per account based on your plan: 1 GB (Free), 5 GB (Solo), 50 GB (Team). If you exceed your limit we will notify you by email and disable new file uploads until you either upgrade or remove files to bring your usage below the limit. Existing portals and files remain accessible during this period.
Service availability
We aim to keep Bondshake available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or emergency work that temporarily affects availability. We are not liable for any loss caused by downtime or service disruption.
Bondshake is provided on Cloudflare's global infrastructure. We rely on Cloudflare, Stripe, and other sub-processors for core functionality. Their outages may affect the Service.
Termination
By you
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing contact@bondshake.com. If you have a paid subscription, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
By us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. For non-material breaches we will attempt to notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue before terminating.
Effect of termination
On termination, your portals will no longer be accessible to viewers. Your data will be deleted within 30 days, except as required by law or our data retention obligations. We are not liable for any loss resulting from termination.
If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund a pro-rated portion of any prepaid annual subscription fee for the unused months.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bondshake disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected. We are not responsible for the content of third-party links shared within portals.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bondshake and its officers, directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities — arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Bondshake in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bondshake is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last updated. You can always find the current version at bondshake.com/terms.
